$21 to $25 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The welder will use welding techniques to build stainless steel food processing machinery, sub-assemblies, and other products. The welder will use their knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Will use mathematics to solve problems pertaining to welding functions. The welder will manage how much time is used on a project. The welder will perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Will also convey information effectively so that the job can be completed in the appropriate manner. The welder will observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources before starting a project.
REPORTING STRUCTURE AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS
· Reports To: Weld Department Lead
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing the job function.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc.
- Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
- Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Recognize, set up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
Education: High School Diploma / Equivalency
Experience: 3-5 years' experience Blueprint Reading. Must have 3-5 years' experience with gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
