Industrial Spray Painter
Position Summary:
The Industrial Equipment Painter is a painter who specializes in painting equipment and equipment parts in the manufacturing plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Setting up blast pot and nozzle equipment
· Prepping/Sanding or Sandblasting surfaces to remove rough areas on a variety of metal parts
· Mixing and applying appropriate paint or other coatings onto product surfaces
· Using sprayers, brushes and other equipment to apply coatings evenly and smoothly
· Using product efficiently to avoid excess waste of products
· Cleaning all applicators and machinery after painting is completed
· Storing coatings, chemicals and tools in properly marked containers and storage areas after use
· Ensuring that correct colors and coatings are used on product as instructed
· Notifying supervisor of inventory needs in a timely fashion
· Applying proper chemicals to product to achieve long-term adhesion and finish quality
· Managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines
· Following all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents or illness for self and others
· Performing other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the position
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
· Must be age 18 or older
· Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
· High School Diploma or GED, preferred
· 1+ years of industrial equipment/machinery painting experience
· 1+ years of experience using a wet gun and brushes
· 1+ years of experience using hand and power tools
· Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements:
· Able to sit, stand, stoop, reach, twist, bend for extended periods of time
· Able to visually distinguish between paint colors
· Able to grip, hold and use wrist to apply or spray pressurized liquids or coatings in a back-and-forth motion
· Able to wear appropriate PPE equipment for each job task
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
